Refund and cancellation policy
In short
- Cancel your plan any time in the app. No fee. It runs to the end of the month you've paid for.
- We don't refund the rest of a month you've cancelled, unless something went wrong (section 5).
- If you were charged twice, charged after cancelling, or didn't get what you paid for, we refund you.
- Ask through the Contact page. We reply within 48 hours and decide within 7 days.
1. Cancelling a plan
- Go to Profile, then Your plan, then Cancel, and confirm. There is no fee and nothing else to do.
- Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep your plan and its questions until the end of the month you've paid for.
- You can also stop future payments by cancelling the AutoPay mandate in your UPI app or with your card's bank. Your plan then ends at the end of the month you've paid for.
- Deleting your account also cancels any renewal first. Paid days and unused questions end with the account and aren't refunded, unless section 5 applies.
- Once cancelled, a plan ends at the end of the month. You can choose a new plan at any time.
2. Renewals
Plans renew monthly. Your bank or UPI app sends you a notice at least 24 hours before each payment and lets you stop it. The amount is the price you agreed to. A new price applies only if you agree to it and authorise it. If you don't, your plan ends at the end of the month you've paid for.
3. Changing plans
- Moving up starts at once, at the full price of the new plan, and the old plan stops renewing. Questions left on the old plan keep their own end date and are used first. There is no part refund or credit for the old plan's remaining days.
- Moving down: cancel, then choose the new plan when the current month ends.
4. Top-up packs
- A pack's questions last 12 months and can be used only while you have an active plan.
- A pack isn't refundable once you've used any of its questions, except in the cases in section 5.
5. When we refund
We refund, to the payment method you used, in the cases below and whenever the law requires it. If only part of what you paid for was affected, we refund that part. The cases are:
- you were charged twice for the same thing;
- you were charged after your cancellation took effect;
- you paid but your plan or pack wasn't added to your account;
- The Starly wasn't available, or didn't work as described; or
- a mistake on our side caused the charge.
The free welcome reading and daily readings are free, so there is nothing to refund.
6. How to ask, and how long it takes
- Write through the Contact page with the date and amount, which you can find under Payments and invoices. A screenshot or recording of what went wrong helps, if you have one.
- We reply within 48 hours.
- We decide within 7 days and tell you why.
- Approved refunds are sent within 7 days. Your bank usually takes 5 to 7 working days to show them. A refund that is due will never take more than 30 days from your request.
7. What a refund does
- The refunded month's or pack's questions are removed from your account.
- We issue a GST credit note against the invoice.
- Razorpay's processing fee is not passed on to you.
8. Your data when a plan ends
Everything you've kept stays free for 60 days after a plan ends. After that, nothing you've kept is deleted without telling you first. You can download your data, free, at any time, as our privacy policy describes, and you never have to pay to delete your account.
9. Disputes and your rights
Payments are processed by Razorpay, but refunds are our decision and our responsibility. You can also raise a dispute or chargeback with your bank. Nothing in this policy limits your rights under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, including calling the National Consumer Helpline on 1915 or filing a complaint with a Consumer Commission.
